Sam Fender and Olivia Dean reflect on love and vulnerability in new version of “Rein Me In.”

Few collaborations feel as organic as this. Sam Fender’s newly reimagined “Rein Me In,” featuring Olivia Dean, is a showcase of lyrical introspection and vocal harmony. Initially a solo track on Fender’s People Watching, this new version introduces Dean’s narrative to the piece, reshaping its emotional landscape.

The idea wasn’t just to duet. As Fender explained, “If I collaborate… I prefer they write a new part and make it their own.” Dean did just that, writing a new verse and offering a fresh viewpoint. “Olivia added a female perspective… and I think it’s all the better for it.”

Dean shared her thoughts on the experience: “‘Rein Me In’ is my favourite song on Sam’s album… I’m so pleased we got to work together on this duet.”

Their performance at London Stadium was met with widespread enthusiasm. With a capacity crowd hanging on every word, the track’s power translated beautifully in real time. Video footage from the event now accompanies the official release.
