Daniel Seavey releases Second Wind, a deeply personal debut album exploring growth and self-discovery. Featuring “Lose Me Like You Mean It.”
After years of evolution, Daniel Seavey’s long-awaited solo debut album, Second Wind, is finally here. Out now via Atlantic Records, the 12-track project showcases Seavey’s growth as a musician, songwriter, and producer, blending early-aughts pop-rock influences with his own introspective style.
For Seavey, Second Wind is a reflection of his personal journey. “This album is about a boy desperately clinging on to his youth while life is trying to force him to grow up,” he explains. “Writing and producing these songs helped me rediscover optimism and creative freedom.”
Standout tracks include “Lose Me Like You Mean It” and “Gateway Drug,” both of which Seavey previewed live throughout 2024 while touring with Benson Boone and Dean Lewis. His viral festival debut at Lollapalooza further solidified his emergence as a solo artist.
A former member of Why Don’t We, Seavey’s career began with an incredible six-year run marked by multiple platinum singles, Top 10 albums, and sold-out global tours. However, his journey took a turn in 2022 as he navigated legal battles and personal hardships. The Dancing In The Dark EP in 2023 introduced his solo voice, earning praise from Rolling Stone and Billboard.
Now fully independent, Seavey embarks on the Second Wind Tour starting March 18 in Dallas, TX. With this album, he steps into his brightest chapter yet, proving that he’s more than ready to carve his own legacy.
