In an era that increasingly prioritizes authenticity and bespoke craftsmanship, Hull-based artist Christopher Henderson bridges the heavy world of industrial engineering and the refined aesthetic of contemporary fine art. Drawing on his extensive background in sheet metal fabrication and engineering, Henderson has carved out a niche that turns cold, raw industrial materials into evocative pieces that resonate within modern interior and exterior spaces. Operating from his Kingston upon Hull studio, the sculptor challenges conventional perceptions of metalwork by imbuing industrial textures with a sophisticated artistic vision.

At the core of Henderson’s practice is a marriage of technical rigour and creative intuition. With more than 25 years of professional experience, Christopher Henderson manipulates high-grade materials such as stainless steel, aluminium and Corten steel to create works that defy their rigid origins. His process is defined by an exacting attention to detail, where structural integrity is matched by surface delicacy. By applying his signature etched textures and reflective finishes, the artist ensures that each sculpture maintains a dynamic relationship with its environment. As natural or artificial light shifts throughout the day, the surfaces of his creations respond, fundamentally altering the viewer’s experience of the artwork.

Each piece is the result of a deliberate, handcrafted fabrication process, ensuring that the final output functions as both a feat of engineering and a work of fine art. Henderson’s sculptures are collected around the world, a testament to the appeal of work that bridges the gap between the workshop and the gallery.
