[Los Angeles, CA – May 23, 2024]: Rising Canadian star Braden Bales unveils his new single, “EVERYTHING IS QUIET,” today via Capitol Records. This emotionally resonant track marks a new chapter for Bales, following the critical acclaim of his sophomore EP, “CATALYST,” and his previously released single “ASHED US OUT.”
“EVERYTHING IS QUIET” transcends the realm of a typical love song. It delves into the complexities of balancing ambition with the unwavering strength of love. Drawing from personal experiences, Bales shares the struggles of balancing ambition with relationships, crafting a relatable narrative for anyone who has ever felt the tug-of-war between pursuing a dream and nurturing a significant relationship.
Bales shared about the track, “Ambition and love don’t mix well. I’m in my first long-term relationship and I wrote this song as an apology before going on tour for over a month. It talks through the mixed feelings of trying to build a dream life while still wishing I was home and apologizing for being away. ‘EVERYTHING IS QUIET’ is for anyone who’s pursuing a dream while trying to keep sight of what’s truly important.”
Recent Achievements and Upcoming Plans
Braden recently wrapped up his tour with Seattle-based artist Ryan Caraveo on the “Trouble In Paradise” US tour, which hit major cities such as New York and Chicago. He has a big year ahead, with more music on the way soon.
About Braden Bales
Braden Bales is known for wearing his heart on his sleeve. The Oakville, Ontario native is a self-made singer, songwriter, and producer whose raw honesty is both refreshing and powerful. Due to the lack of a local music community in Oakville, Bales had to learn how to produce and engineer his own music. He switched from business school to an audio engineering program during university and continued honing his craft from his bedroom during COVID-19.
In November 2022, Bales drove from Toronto to Los Angeles, living in his car while doing sessions. In February 2023, he repeated this in Nashville, sleeping at his lawyer’s house. During this period, he wrote and released “CHRONICALLY CAUTIOUS,” his breakthrough single, which garnered 50,000 views on TikTok in its first night and nearly 40 million streams on Spotify. This moment was life-changing for Bales, proving the feasibility of his musical dreams.
Between tours last year, Bales released two EPs, “NOMAD” and “CATALYST,” showcasing his intimate songwriting based on personal experiences. Despite his growing musical community, he still mixes and masters his own music, evident in the sleek precision of his releases. With his spring single “ASHED US OUT,” Bales closed a chapter on songs about high school heartbreak and loneliness. His latest, “EVERYTHING IS QUIET,” opens a new door as he begins writing love songs for the first time.
