Vicetone, Linney

“Opposites” unites Vicetone’s melodic production with Linney’s heartfelt vocals in a track about love’s duality.

Global dance duo Vicetone joins forces with singer-songwriter Linney on their latest single “Opposites,” a poignant exploration of love’s contradictions, out now via Departed Records. Known for their emotive approach to electronic music, Vicetone delivers a melodic and immersive experience, heightened by Linney’s soaring vocal performance.

“We love writing music that tells a story and evokes emotions,” says Vicetone. “With ‘Opposites,’ we wanted to capture that unexplainable connection between two people who shouldn’t work on paper but just do.”

Linney adds, “‘Opposites’ is about the magnetic nature of a relationship that works without any explainable logic… you’re everything I never knew I needed.”

Built on a strong foundation of layered synths and a pulsing beat, “Opposites” is Vicetone at their most cinematic. With more than a decade of impact, the Dutch duo—Ruben den Boer and Victor Pool—continues to craft music that speaks to both the heart and the dancefloor.

Their latest innovation, PROJECT V, brings that same emotional spirit to the live stage. Debuting in China this April, the show features Chinese musicians playing traditional instruments alongside Vicetone in a cultural-meets-electronic performance.

“Opposites” is more than a single—it’s a story told through melody, lyric, and rhythm. For both Vicetone and Linney, it marks another step in using music to connect across difference—and highlight the emotional truths that unite us all.
