Emotion Meets Mastery in Anna Smerdova’s Mesmerizing Lugano Festival Performance

Shyfrin Alliance return with a concept-driven second album titled ‘In the Shadow of Time’, a bold musical and intellectual statement led by Eduard Shyfrin. Known for his multifaceted career as a scientist, author, and businessman, Eduard continues to blur the lines between artistic expression and scholarly exploration.

Following the success of their debut ‘Upside Down Blues’ – which gained half a million streams and radio placements across the US and Europe – the group’s new release goes even deeper. The album was recorded at renowned Parisian studios Barillet, Ferber, and Grand Armee, and features seven tracks, each examining a different relationship we have with time.

Listeners will encounter a range of sonic experiences, from the immersive intensity of the “Black Hole” to the pendulum-like sway of emotional reflection. Through blues-rock arrangements, evocative vocals, and layered instrumentation, ‘In the Shadow of Time’ opens a space where philosophy meets feeling.

“I don’t think there exists an album dedicated purely to the topic of time,” Eduard says. “You will not find another album like this. My principle is I may always be afraid to enter new areas, but I will always enter them. Even if it means daring to hit the Wall of Time.”

The single ‘Buddha Blues’ exemplifies this blend of depth and accessibility – a hook-laden, blues-inflected track inspired by Buddhism’s vision of time as a healing force.

As with his bestselling book From Infinity to Man, Eduard’s approach here is grounded in his deep study of Kabbalah and physics, with music becoming the vessel for those ideas.

‘In the Shadow of Time’ is a compelling step forward for Shyfrin Alliance – one that challenges listeners to reflect as they listen.
