Raf-Saperra’s “Step Out” signals a bold new era in Punjabi pop, produced by the in-demand Ikky.
With his new single “Step Out,” British Punjabi artist Raf-Saperra enters a bold new phase. Released via Polydor Records UK and Universal Music Canada, the track is a vibrant blend of Punjabi folk, dub, dancehall, and glossy pop—crafted in collaboration with superstar producer Ikky.
“First time stepping into the pop lane… and who better to do it with than the hitmaker himself, Ikky,” says Raf. “‘Step Out’ is a full-blown earworm – catchy, bold, and backed by a visual straight out of a cartoon-meets-cinema dream.”
The track also sets the tone for Raf’s upcoming EP—a project that aims to dismantle the limitations placed on Punjabi music. Raf and Ikky’s sound pays homage to both their hometown influences—South London and Toronto—while remaining firmly rooted in the vibrancy of Punjabi culture.
Visuals directed by Bedroom Projects and Avleen Kaur elevate the message: Raf isn’t just testing new waters—he’s owning them.
Known for pushing boundaries with Ruff Around The Edges and 5 Deadly Venomz, Raf continues to carve out a space that’s entirely his own. With “Step Out,” he brings underground edge to mainstream polish, proving once again that real innovation happens when you refuse to stay in one lane.
