Obongjayar releases “Jellyfish,” a protest-laced single from his new album “PARADISE NOW”, dropping May 30.

British-Nigerian artist Obongjayar returns with “Jellyfish,” the latest single from his upcoming album PARADISE NOW, which arrives May 30 via September Recordings. A bold mix of synth-punk and drum and bass, the track confronts political cowardice with sonic intensity and lyrical precision.

The single was co-produced by Carlos O’Connell and Kwes Darko, blending textures from Obongjayar’s Nigerian upbringing with aggressive electronic production.

In a recent interview with The Observer, he shared:

“Seeing how governments move, people in power, corporations – [for] whatever monetary reasons you sell yourself.”
The article’s author, Tara Joshi, described it as “a scathing song about spineless British politicians.”

The only featured artist is longtime friend Little Simz, who recently collaborated with him on her track “Flood.”

Following performances at SXSW in 2023, Obongjayar begins his first-ever U.S. headline shows starting July 24, including a slot at Newport Folk Festival. He’ll head to Europe and the UK in November, concluding at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum—his largest headlining show to date.
