“Everlasting” sees Matt Maeson open up about fatherhood, failure, and finding strength through songwriting.

Matt Maeson’s new single “Everlasting,” released via Atlantic Records, takes listeners on an emotionally transparent journey, offering insight into a year filled with major personal transitions. From fatherhood to marriage to a move across states, Maeson channels the highs and lows into a deeply reflective track.

“I wrote Everlasting from a very defeated place… They’re ugly and uncomfortable but they’re real nonetheless,” he shares. With those words, Maeson grants listeners a front-row seat to his internal world.

The mantra-like refrain—“Grit your teeth and make us proud. Fake it when you don’t know how”—echoes a feeling familiar to many: the pressure to perform strength amid inner collapse.

The accompanying video by Matthew Daniel Siskin adds visual weight to the song’s themes. With its raw honesty and cinematic depth, “Everlasting” may be one of Maeson’s most personal works yet.
