Lindsay Ell and Nightly release “i shouldn’t call you,” an evocative song about heartache and self-love, now streaming via Universal Music Canada.

Lindsay Ell explores love, loss, and self-discovery on her new single, “i shouldn’t call you”, a collaboration with Nightly, out now via Universal Music Canada. The track follows the release of her acclaimed EP love myself, continuing her journey of artistic growth.

Co-written by Ell and Nightly, and co-produced by Ell and Doug Schadt, the song begins with minimal instrumentation and raw vocals, then builds into a soaring, cathartic release, led by driving percussion and an electrifying guitar solo.

Discussing the song’s significance, Ell explains:

Lindsay Ell ft Nightly – i shouldn’t call you

“‘i shouldn’t call you’ is the perfect follow-up to love myself, because when you start to love yourself, you can see what you are worthy of and the things that don’t fit become clearer. I wrote this song to be the soundtrack for the honest struggle of coming to terms with realizing someone doesn’t fit in your life anymore.” – Lindsay Ell
