Kyra Machida’s “Handsy” delivers a quirky pop experience with a sultry, cinematic visual to match.
Kyra Machida’s “Handsy” arrives as a vibrant expression of playful confidence, combining her signature pop style with a theatrical visualizer. The release, under Sound Factory Records, RECORDS, and RCA Records, adds a bold character to her discography.
Set in a stylized burlesque club, the visualizer follows Kyra as she embodies a character of flirtation and mystery. The setting plays into the sonic atmosphere—energetic, cheeky, and unconcerned with rules.
In her words:
“We wrote ‘Handsy’ right after I got back from London, which really inspired the bold, fun, totally unattached character you see in the visualizer. There’s something luring about her — kind of like a spell — and we wanted the production to reflect that energy: playful, quirky, a little sexy, but never too serious. My producer and I were both deep into Gwen Stefani, and Fergie at the time, totally by coincidence, and I think that’s what inspired the playfulness of the song. The whole point was to build this world that she could pull you into and I’m so excited about the visualizer because I think it really brings that story to life.”
“Handsy” adds to Kyra’s growing catalog of genre-fluid releases, following “DNA”, “Speed”, “Shibuya”, and “Connect”. Her music blurs pop with electronic and club textures, offering listeners a full sensory experience.
