Jordan Firstman’s “Secrets” is a concept album turning fan-submitted secrets into genre-fluid songs. Out now.
With Secrets, out now on Capitol Records, Jordan Firstman enters the music space with a concept album unlike any other. Built on the anonymous confessions of his social media followers, the project is a blend of poignant storytelling and sharp humor that reflects his signature voice.
Launched in 2020, Secrets started as an Instagram series where Firstman opened his DMs to gather personal, often outrageous secrets. These submissions inspired songs that touch on everything from heartbreak to absurdity, all delivered with wit and sincerity. Tracks like “I’m quitting my job tomorri” capture the duality—an emotional UK garage-style piece with both levity and depth, accompanied by a visual that explores a couple’s relationship in flux.
Each song title retains the exact spelling submitted by fans, adding authenticity to the process. Firstman’s collaborators on the album include a mix of musicians and actors: Julia Fox, Rufus Wainwright, Rachel Sennott, LAUNDRY DAY, Suki Waterhouse, Jimmy Pop, and his own mom.
Firstman’s musical influences stretch wide. The album moves through jazz, EDM, post-punk, R&B, and country, supported by producers Brad Oberhofer, Blake Slatkin, Zach Dawes, and Sega Bodega. It’s a soundscape that’s as eclectic as his storytelling.
Known for his viral Impressions series and beloved by names like Ariana Grande and Chrissy Teigen, Firstman brings that same instinct for connection into his music. With acting credits in You People, Ms. Marvel, and more, his artistry continues to expand. Secrets is his most musically ambitious work yet.
