Grace Davies releases “Super Love Me,” a heartbreaker with a hook, ahead of her debut LP “The Wrong Side of 25”.
Grace Davies releases “Super Love Me,” a glittery and gut-wrenching breakup track from her forthcoming debut album The Wrong Side of 25, due out July 11.
Written with Nick Bradley, James New, and Paul Whalley, and co-produced by Whalley and Davies, the single is rich in vulnerability, tongue-in-cheek lyricism, and that unmistakable Grace touch.
“Sometimes I have to remind myself of what this song is about,” Grace notes. “Because I just want to boogie round my bedroom—but really, it is a classic Grace sad girl anthem.”
The song’s inspiration? A 2020 “covid bubble” romance that vanished without warning:
“One day he lived in my flat, and the next… he left, and I never heard from him again. Feel like you’ve missed a chapter? Yeah, me too.”
With its ABBA-style bassline and instantly quotable chorus—“Why d’ya have to make it like you super loved me / If you’re only gonna go and super let me down?”—“Super Love Me” solidifies Grace as a pop writer with range, emotional depth, and unshakable honesty.
She’ll perform live on July 4 at Silverstone’s Made in Vale Stage, joining RAYE at the F1 British Grand Prix.
