DEJA DEAD continues to push creative boundaries with their upcoming release ‘SNAPSHOTS’, launching later this month alongside an immersive event designed to blur the lines between music, narrative, and visual art.
The event, scheduled for 23 March 2026 at Glasgow Film Theatre, will serve as more than just a single premiere. Attendees will be taken through a layered experience featuring behind-the-scenes glimpses into the recording process, live storytelling, and the screening of a short techno-horror film built around the sonic atmosphere of the album.
Emotionally charged and sonically rich, ‘SNAPSHOTS’ was penned during a deeply transitional time. The song captures the disorientation of revisiting past memories and the gradual path toward renewal. As DEJA DEAD puts it, “To me, SNAPSHOTS is about looking back in order to move forward. It takes hitting rock bottom, going to that place that’s so dark, so lost… until a new image starts coming through— possibly a way out.”
The track’s opening moments feature the haunting tones of Scotland’s final remaining cinema organ—an element that connects the musical and visual worlds and enhances the sense of cinematic introspection present throughout the project.
Lines like “Red string forms a timeline / tangled all over my room” evoke the process of attempting to piece together memories, while “You won’t take me back there!” signals a pivotal moment of emotional release.
Produced by RICO and performed and written by DEJA DEAD, ‘SNAPSHOTS’ offers an expansive view into the artist’s evolving vision. Through music and film, this release invites listeners to experience vulnerability, resilience, and artistry in tandem.
