Daya speaks on ‘Agnostic’ and confirms ‘Til Every Petal Drops’ for October 10, with Lolla cameo and ‘Hide Away’ decade noted.
Daya introduces ‘Agnostic’ and frames it in her own words.
“It’s about finding your way through the wave of numbness that follows the end of a relationship,” she shares. “Creating it felt like stepping into new territory for me with the production, and vocally, it was one of my favorites to write.”
From that starting point, the single unfolds as a dark, rhythm led cut that leans into moody alt pop textures. Haunting synth figures circle a brooding bassline, while the arrangement holds a slow burn tension that keeps the track intimate and hypnotic. The tone is confessional without being crowded, a fit for the subject at hand.
The release sits within a larger reveal. ‘Agnostic’ is the third single from Daya’s sophomore album, ‘Til Every Petal Drops’, which arrives October 10 via ONErpm. It is her first album in nearly ten years, following 2016’s ‘Sit Still, Look Pretty’. The new project presents a 4x Platinum, Grammy winning artist widening the frame, exploring heartbreak, healing, and growth with a more raw and evolved approach, and testing new contours in her sound.
A live moment underlined the coming phase last weekend, when Daya joined Gryffin’s Lollapalooza set at Perry’s to perform ‘Feel Good’. The unannounced appearance charged the crowd and hinted at a strong run into the fall album window.
Looking back while moving forward, 2025 marks the tenth anniversary of ‘Hide Away’. The track that carried a 16 year old Daya to global notice holds a 4X platinum certification and sits near 700 million streams. A viral Alan Walker remix has topped 20 million streams and prompted more than 300K social media creates, and an alternate version released in April pulled renewed attention to the song.
Two major DJ collaborations are queued, and with ‘Til Every Petal Drops’ confirmed for October, ‘Agnostic’ sets the tone.
