Daniel Seavey drops “Gateway Drug” with a new video, previewing his upcoming solo album and live shows.
Daniel Seavey continues his rise as a solo artist with the release of “Gateway Drug,” a fresh single accompanied by a new music video under Atlantic Records. This latest track is the result of his ongoing collaboration with Michael Pollack, who has also worked with global stars like Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.
Having performed the song during his tour with Benson Boone, Seavey’s fans are already singing along. “Gateway Drug” joins previous singles “The Older You Get” and “Other People” as part of the rollout for his highly anticipated debut album.
Seavey’s breakout moment as a solo act came at Lollapalooza, where his performance went viral. He is now on tour with Benson Boone, with additional dates set for Austin City Limits and an Australian arena tour alongside Dean Lewis.
Fans recently got a preview of their chemistry when Seavey and Lewis performed a duet of Coldplay’s “Fix You.”
“‘Gateway Drug’ is a super fun song, and that’s exactly what I intended it to be,” Seavey shares. “I’ve made enough emotional tracks—this one was just about having fun.”
Seavey’s career path has been anything but conventional. After co-founding Why Don’t We in 2016, he experienced both personal challenges and professional turbulence. His Dancing In The Dark EP introduced him as a solo artist in 2023, garnering over 60 million streams.
Now, free to pursue his vision, Seavey blends early-2000s pop-rock with his own creative flair, building excitement for what’s next.
