Hadwin introduces a candid anthem, brass and gospel amplify a fearless stance as ‘Little Miss Jagged’ nears release.
Courtney Hadwin sets the scene with candor, then lets the music take over. ‘All The Love (Money Can Buy)’ is out now and it lands as a big, bright marker on the way to ‘Little Miss Jagged’, out September 12.
Courtney says, “All the love (money can buy) was one of my favourite songs to write cause it’s just a big f*ck you song that you can shout in the car!!” It was one of them songs that just needed to be wrote instead of said!”
That sentiment matches the sound. Gospel style backing vocals give the choruses a communal lift, a jubilant brass section drives the rhythm, and her lead hits with the blend of youth and soul that draws natural comparisons to Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner. Fans who followed the teasers have embraced the full cut as a high point of the campaign.
She wrote the single with producer Kevin Bowe, who has worked with Etta James and Joe Cocker. Their partnership threads through this era, alongside versatile releases that expand the palette. ‘Spellbound’, ‘You Only Love Me When I Lie’, ‘D.N.A.’ and ‘Die And Stay Pretty’ each reach into different corners, from funk and soul to pop punk and Motown, and still feel like chapters of the same story.
The campaign has brought an ever growing, diverse audience, now over a million strong on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. Until the album drops, ‘All The Love (Money Can Buy)’ stands as the sing it loud moment, the one you roll the windows down for and let the chorus fly.
