CATTY’s new single “Joyride” explores messy romance and surrender with pop-rock intensity.
CATTY’s “Joyride” is a dive headfirst into desire. The new single, out now via AWAL, is the follow-up to her acclaimed debut EP Healing Out Of Spite. Premiered on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop as Jodie Bryant’s Future Bop, the track mixes emotional chaos with glam-pop excess.
With its theatrical instrumentation and vulnerable lyrics, Joyride captures the moment when a situationship becomes anything but casual. “I was done with love,” CATTY admits. “But I couldn’t stay away… I would have followed her into the depths of hell.”
Messy, honest, and emotionally raw, Joyride includes standout lines like “Watching my dignity circle the drain” and “Am I the one? Before the one that stays?”
A visually stunning video is on the way, inspired by a sapphic take on Thelma & Louise and featuring Amy Spalding.
After a breakthrough year that saw her open for Stevie Nicks, headline sold-out London shows, and earn praise from NME, Popjustice, and BBC Radio 1, CATTY is back and bolder than ever.
Upcoming dates include The Great Escape Festival (May 15), CloseUp Festival (May 22), Birmingham Pride (May 24), and Latitude in July. Joyride is streaming now.
