With “Bar Star,” Carter Faith previews her debut album ‘Cherry Valley’, releasing October 3 via MCA.
Carter Faith introduces her latest single, “Bar Star,” as a playful yet heartfelt tribute to a beloved honky-tonk archetype. Released via MCA, the track leads into her debut album Cherry Valley, due October 3.
Faith describes the song’s subject as “the star of the bar—for better or for worse—but damnit, she loves him,” bringing humor and heart to the character sketch. The production leans into upbeat country with rootsy textures, making it a natural singalong.
Accompanying the single is a bonus offering: “Billy Bob Thornton (Worktape).” The song takes inspiration from Faith’s admiration for the actor. “I wrote this song about Billy Bob Thornton because I literally love him… I just had to write about it,” she shares.
Cherry Valley captures Carter’s story through music—her move from North Carolina to Nashville, the wins, the heartbreaks, and everything in between. Built with longtime collaborator Tofer Brown, the record is the culmination of two years’ worth of writing, reflecting her journey with honesty and edge.
