In a bold step forward, YJL introduces a new creative identity by merging her classical foundation with the energetic pulse of K-pop. The Juilliard and Paris Conservatoire-trained cellist has completed eight original tracks and two music videos, each composed and produced by YJL herself using Logic Pro.
Now based in Seoul, she draws on a life lived across the U.S., Belgium, France, and Korea, and brings a global perspective to her craft. Her fluency in English, French, and Korean reflects in her work, giving her music a cross-cultural depth and accessibility that resonates internationally.
Her upcoming tracks—“Vibe,” “Je T’aime,” “Soft Star,” “Sky,” “Jazz On,” and “New Day”—tell stories of renewal and emotional growth. She characterizes the project as “cello + K-pop fusion with emotional storytelling,” a concept that pairs string-based compositions with contemporary production and emotionally rich visuals.

YJL’s classical career has already earned critical acclaim. Her recording of Prokofiev’s Sinfonia Concertante received strong endorsements from Classical Net, and publications such as The Strad have praised her for her “technical flawlessness and rich sound.”
With this new direction, she maintains her technical excellence while expanding her creative voice. The visuals accompanying her tracks are designed for digital virality, targeting a global audience and enhancing the music’s storytelling power.
She also led the “Familiar Classics” project, collaborating with creatives from across disciplines including a Netflix comedian and a pianist featured in Forbes. The result is an artist whose work bridges tradition and innovation, poised to speak to audiences worldwide through both artistry and authenticity.
