“Useless” is Kassidy’s new single about feeling emotionally sidelined. Visuals and live performance out soon.
Canadian artist Kassidy returns with “Useless,” a deeply personal single out now via Universal Music Canada. The track speaks to the universal experience of feeling alone in your effort—whether in friendships or romantic relationships.
“‘Useless’ was inspired by friends who don’t reach out anymore or won’t make the time or effort the way they used to,” Kassidy explains. “It’s about that feeling of always being the one to reach out.”
As he continued writing, the message became more layered.
“Somewhere along the way… I realized that this concept could also be fitting for a romantic relationship where one of the partners is feeling let down or used.”
The official music video, premiering May 30, stars Kassidy navigating a relationship defined by emotional distance. Also arriving soon is a live performance video featuring JaRon Marshall from Black Pumas, offering a raw and intimate take that highlights Kassidy’s vocal strength and the track’s emotional weight.
As more singles and collaborations line up, 2025 is set to be a turning point in Kassidy’s career. His blend of soul-infused pop and vulnerable lyricism continues to win hearts and resonate with a growing audience.
