“2 much 2 handle” leads the debut album rollout for Aidan Bissett, out July 25 on Capitol.
Rising indie-pop voice Aidan Bissett shares “2 much 2 handle,” the latest single from his upcoming debut album shut up and love me, arriving July 25 via Capitol Records. Showcasing his continued evolution as a genre-spanning artist, the track captures the tension, excitement, and vulnerability of a new emotional connection.
With buoyant piano and punchy percussion, the track delivers a whirlwind of anticipation and romantic energy. “On the table I was kissing your mouth, was it too much to handle?” Bissett sings. “Told your daddy that I slept on the couch, but he’s smart enough to figure it out.”
“This one feels like a stop-and-go rollercoaster,” Bissett says. “It captures the feeling of hitting your highest peaks and your lowest lows. It’s about anticipation — you’re going up and up, but the fall never happens.” That emotion is amplified in the visualizer, which depicts him walking endlessly on a conveyor belt amid passersby.
“2 much 2 handle” follows previous album tracks “ricochet,” which dissects toxic love, and the synth-forward “are we in love yet?”
In support of shut up and love me, Bissett will launch a North American headlining tour beginning September 14 in San Diego. The 20-city run includes a stop at New York’s Irving Plaza and concludes at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on October 22. Tickets go on sale May 16 at 10AM local time.
