The Underachievers

“Homecoming” marks The Underachievers’ long-awaited return, reflecting growth, purpose, and evolution.

After five years away from the album format, Brooklyn’s The Underachievers return with Homecoming, a full-length project that captures both their artistic roots and future ambitions. Out now via SLANG, the nine-track release is a reflection on purpose, community, and spiritual growth.

Known for fusing high-level lyricism with psychedelic and philosophical themes, Issa Gold and AKTHESAVIOR channel their signature sound into a more refined and deeply introspective offering.

Singles like “Brand New” and “Have Nots” introduced this new era with purpose. The latter, produced by Issa, gained significant traction on On The Radar, earning Issa a spot on the Splice Producer list, and engaging fans with over 1,400 comments and 4,400 shares. “Megatron” follows, offering hard truths and complex rhythms against a New York backdrop.

The album also features DJ Enuff, a Brooklyn legend whose presence adds cultural depth and generational connection.

Beyond the studio, The Underachievers returned to the stage at NYFW with GianiNYC and reunited with Flatbush Zombies in LA, reigniting the legacy of the Beast Coast movement.

Homecoming has already been added to playlists like Rap Rising, Underground Hip-Hop Essentials, and boom bap/chill rap, highlighting its impact across both underground and mainstream audiences. The Underachievers are back—and more fearless than ever.
