Dean Lewis shares emotional new single “I Hate That It’s True” and announces “The Epilogue (Deluxe)”.
Following the success of his #2 ARIA-charting album, Dean Lewis has unveiled The Epilogue (Deluxe), an expanded version of the record set for release on July 11 via DSPs and as a limited edition 2LP vinyl. Included is a new single, “I Hate That It’s True,” a heartfelt and acoustic-driven song that offers a glimpse into Lewis’ evolving sound.
“Usually when I write a song it takes about a year before it can come out,” Dean says. “I wrote ‘I Hate That It’s True’ about 10 weeks ago at an Airbnb in Bondi Beach. The day I wrote it we spent 48 hours finishing the production, rushing it over to my team and adding it onto my deluxe album. For me the song is a hint at what is to come on my next album; in the sense of where I’m headed with my songwriting and the more acoustic raw production.”
The deluxe edition will feature five new songs, including streaming giant “With You.” The track has already notched up over 62 million global streams, 260,000 TikTok videos, and 11 million OMV views. It’s been featured across major playlists like Hot Hits Australia, Today’s Hits, and aired globally via MTV.
Radio success followed, with “With You” hitting #22 on Australia’s Top 100 Radio, #16 on Shazam AU, and landing in Top 50 Global Shazam. A duet with Sofia Camara, synced on MAFS Australia, gave the song new viral life.
Also included: a moving cover of Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris,” adding a nostalgic twist to the deluxe edition. The Epilogue (Deluxe) brings new emotion, new depth, and a preview of Dean’s creative future.
