Elton John & Brandi Carlile share Swing For The Fences, a song of resilience and celebration, from their upcoming album Who Believes In Angels?, out April 4.
Elton John and Brandi Carlile are back with Swing For The Fences, a high-energy anthem that speaks to resilience, joy, and the power of self-expression. The track is accompanied by a visually striking music video directed by Xavier Dolan, further cementing its message of liberation and pride.
The video stars dancer William Darby in a deeply emotive performance, expressing his identity through movement. Choreographed by Damien Jalet, the routine transitions from solitary expression to intimate connection, culminating in a moment of unity with co-star Abdalla Amour.
Dolan explains his inspiration for the visual: “I wanted to capture the unfiltered joy of dance—something that has been at the heart of queer culture for generations. In a time when some seek to suppress LGBTQ+ voices, it’s more important than ever to celebrate who we are.”
Carlile calls Swing For The Fences a song of encouragement: “Elton and I wanted to write something for the next generation—something that says, ‘Go for it. Be fearless. Don’t let anything hold you back.’”
Elton adds, “This was the song that shaped the entire album. It was the breakthrough moment where everything fell into place.”
With Swing For The Fences, Elton and Brandi deliver a bold statement wrapped in electrifying rock energy. The video is now available, and the song is streaming worldwide.
