Darren Kiely shares two deeply personal songs, “Old & Grey” and “Mulcair Road,” exploring memory, love, and self-discovery. Out now via Free Flight Records.

Darren Kiely invites listeners into his world of rich storytelling and heartfelt emotion with the release of two new songs, “Old & Grey” and “Mulcair Road,” out now via Free Flight Records. Both tracks continue Kiely’s tradition of blending intimate lyricism with evocative melodies, making them instant standouts in his growing catalog.

“Mulcair Road” is a guitar-driven track that explores the complex emotions of returning to a childhood place, only to find it changed by time. Written with Ross Ellis, Joe Fox, and Geoff Warburton, the song reflects on the feeling of longing for something familiar yet realizing it no longer exists in the same way. “It describes the expectation of familiarity and safety but the realization that time has passed and what you left isn’t there anymore,” says Kiely.

On the other hand, “Old & Grey” slows things down with a mid-tempo melody and background whistles that underscore its theme of loss. Written with Joe Fox and Geoff Warburton, the song explores how losing a loved one can impact a person’s sense of identity. “It expresses how we can lose our identity without those we love the most,” Kiely shares.

Currently on his Never Been Here Before World Tour, Kiely is bringing these new songs to his fans worldwide. With “Old & Grey” and “Mulcair Road,” he delivers another powerful showcase of his artistry.
