J Balvin’s new single “Rio” reflects on gratitude, growth, and healing. Listen to the track and watch the intimate video now.

J Balvin returns with “Rio,” a track that combines his signature reggaeton sound with introspective themes of self-awareness and gratitude. Produced by Mazzarri and ODDLIQUOR, the song is a standout release that highlights Balvin’s evolution as both an artist and a person.

“Rio” begins with a gentle reggaeton beat and a poignant bassline, creating a soundscape that feels reflective yet uplifting. The lyrics explore Balvin’s spiritual healing and personal growth, with the opening line, “Hoy le doy las gracias al cielo / por las veces que me equivoque” (Today I give thanks to the heavens / For the times I messed up), setting the tone. In the chorus, he underscores the importance of gratitude and priorities, singing, “Pa qué buscar en la calle / Lo que abunda en mi casa” (Why hit the streets to look for / What is plentiful in my house).

The song’s music video features personal clips recorded by Balvin himself, offering an intimate glimpse into his journey of self-discovery. This raw, unfiltered approach mirrors the vulnerability expressed in the song’s lyrics, making it a truly impactful release.

“Rio” also arrives as Balvin celebrates two nominations at the 2025 Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, where he’s recognized for Urban Collaboration of the Year and Urban Album of the Year. The awards ceremony will take place on February 20 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
