Ookay & Linney

Ookay and Linney share “Drive Away Slow,” a breakup ballad blending emotional songwriting with dance-pop melodies. Out now on Dim Mak.

Ookay and Linney are back with their latest collaboration, “Drive Away Slow,” a poignant yet upbeat breakup ballad available now via Dim Mak. The song showcases Linney’s emotional storytelling and Ookay’s ability to create immersive, melodic dance-pop production.

With lyrics rooted in vivid driving metaphors, “Drive Away Slow” reflects the bittersweet emotions of letting go. Linney’s airy vocals deliver memorable lines like, “Break my heart fast and drive away slow. I want you to remember how much you’ll miss me,” while Ookay’s production keeps the track uplifting, creating a unique balance of melancholy and energy.

Linney describes the track as: “The ultimate breakup anthem. We made sure to include as many driving metaphors as we could lyrically. They’re playing our song on the radio … will you think of me now? Look me in the eyes when I let you go, but would you drive away, drive away slow?”

Adding to this, Ookay shared: “This is the ultimate breakup song but in such an upbeat way! We know there’s definitely people that can relate to the lyrics.”
