Lagos-based highlife duo The Cavemen have released their latest two-pack bundle, “Medicine” and “Opportunity.” The tracks deliver a fresh take on the highlife genre, combining traditional African melodies with modern jazz and soulful grooves to create a dynamic and uplifting listening experience.

Highlife music, known for its rhythmic energy and celebration of social and cultural themes, shines brightly in “Medicine” and “Opportunity.” The Cavemen bring their unique touch to the genre, crafting songs that balance groove and reflection, making them accessible to a global audience.

On the inspiration for these songs, The Cavemen share, “We have always wanted to explore the instruments and groove. ‘Medicine’ and ‘Opportunity’ have now become a testimony of that. In a world where all has been said, we have decided to end the year with a call to groove and reflect. ‘Medicine’ and ‘Opportunity’ explores the possibilities of therapy in modern highlife. Both songs are a mix of two worlds heading in the same direction to uplift listeners.”

With this release, The Cavemen continue their mission to modernize highlife while staying true to its roots. Their ability to infuse the genre with soulful and jazzy elements makes “Medicine” and “Opportunity” a standout addition to their catalog.
