Montreal’s Olivia Khoury unveils “Fall Forward,” a thought-provoking track blending introspection with genre-bending sounds.

Montreal singer-songwriter and interdisciplinary artist Olivia Khoury has released her latest single, “Fall Forward,” a bold and introspective track that challenges musical and emotional boundaries. Following her critically acclaimed EP Portraits from 2023, Olivia’s new release reveals the next phase of her artistic evolution.

Produced in collaboration with Reno McCarthy, “Fall Forward” merges live instrumentation with polished production to create a dynamic listening experience. The track builds to a dramatic finale, where Olivia’s powerful vocals take center stage alongside live drums performed by Olivier Guertin and intricate guitar arrangements.

The song’s lyrics delve into themes of resilience and self-judgment, with Olivia portraying her mind as a courtroom where inner truths and self-critique collide. “How can one defend oneself when the line between self-critique and inner truth begins to blur?” she asks, tackling the complex interplay between self-awareness and personal accountability.

Drawing on her Caribbean and Lebanese heritage, Olivia brings a unique perspective to her music, blending diverse influences into a sound that defies easy categorization. Her ability to explore complex themes through accessible yet innovative music is a hallmark of her artistry.
