Rising indie-rock artist Meg Elsier has announced her forthcoming debut album, “spittake,” set to release on June 28th. In conjunction with the album announcement, Meg also revealed her upcoming North American Fall tour dates, where she will be supporting Finom. Tickets are now on sale.
Hailing from New England and now based in Nashville, Meg Elsier has quickly become one of the most exciting new voices in the indie-rock scene. The highly-anticipated 11-track album, “spittake,” includes previously released singles “ifshitfuq,” “baby,” “iznotreal,” “forlyleinsanfrancisco,” and “oldnews.” Demonstrating her versatility, Meg recently shared a remix of “oldnews” featuring Coleman.X, transforming her indie-rock single into a hyper-pop anthem.
Discussing her debut album, Meg Elsier shared, “The creation of ‘spittake’ was the biggest and scariest thing that I’ve done. It’s something I built up and seemed somewhat impossible to achieve. But it happened! Ryan McFadden and I made this record by getting to know each other’s intentions and taste, and just brain processes. To be honest, I don’t think I knew what the record meant to me or what I wanted to create until it was done. I knew I wanted to record an album because I felt proud of these songs and wanted people to hear them. What I was searching for was an introduction as… Meg. Not someone I’m mirroring, or someone I’ve been trying to become. Just who I am genuinely at this moment.”
